First, there's the frantic search for the multiple remotes. en you have to try to remember which one is used for what. And if you can't figure that out, you have to bribe a tech-savvy kid to turn the movie on for you. Wouldn't it be nice just to be able to push one button and have everything work the way you want it to? at's exactly what Kevin Crouse Audio Design can make happen. Ah, the answer to the annoying "five remotes and no idea what button to push" problem. "We simplify your viewing and listening experience," says Kevin Crouse, the company's president and owner. "At one touch of a button, you can have the lights down, the shades closed, and the movie on. It's one button, and that button says something like 'watch a movie' on it." Now Kevin Crouse, which specializes in all phases of home entertainment system design and installation, has made the process even simpler. e company recently set up shop in a Chatham showroom, sharing the space with a number of interior designers. While the company still makes house calls, you can now stop by the showroom and peruse the array of high-end audio and video equipment on display. At the store you'll find speakers, receivers, TVs, and Blu-ray players situated amid fine furniture created by woodworker Dezi Folenta. e showroom does just what Crouse hoped it would: allows people to see how seamlessly home electronics can be integrated with home furnishings. e store invites customers to play, creating an interactive experience. Tap an LCD touchscreen, for example, and discover how simple it is to operate a whole-house audio system. Close your eyes as the music drifts through the space, and you'll hear the high quality of a sound system from Kevin Crouse Audio Design. Crouse installs only top-notch equipment, and he knows his stuff. A GRAMMY awardwinning independent sound engineer, he's a certified custom electronics design and engineering contractor as well. For more than 20 years he has worked in the contemporary urban and pop music scene, recording music for artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, and Michael Jackson. Working with Kevin Crouse Audio Design is as simple as using a single-button remote control. Crouse holds an in-home consultation with each customer, custom-tailors a home entertainment system to fit the client's lifestyle, and then provides and installs all the components. Each project receives the same meticulous attention to detail, whether it's the installation of a flat-screen TV or the creation of an entire home theater. Once a system has been installed, Crouse personally teaches everyone in the family how to use it—yes, even the techno-phobic can learn. And if you ever forget, there's no need to bribe a techsavvy kid to help you figure it out; Crouse is always happy to give further support. "My company tries to make this as simple as possible," he says. "After all, home entertainment is not supposed to be burdensome. It's supposed to be entertaining."
