In the Marketplace
In the Marketplace By Naomi Kenan and Deborah Schapiro, photo by Dan Epstein TOP DESIGNERS, TOP SERVICE and a 50-Foot Shoe Wall… magine, ladies, the perfect shopping experience: A gorgeous, three-story, 10,000-square-foot boutique filled with the best of Valentino, Versace, and many other top designers. A 50-foot (no, this is not a typo) wall of to-die-for shoes, from the likes of Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin, to name but a few. Art deco décor, Parisian flair, and a festive Latin soundtrack. Best of all, a genuinely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Pure fantasy? No, it's CoCo Pari. CoCo Pari, located in Red Bank with a satellite shop in Deal, has been voted time and again the top women's boutique in the state. Owner Kimberly Landau explains why: "We make sure every woman feels special here." Landau, also the store buyer and manager, trains her staff to treat each customer with dignity, helping her choose clothes that suit her lifestyle and flatter her figure—without breaking her budget. Landau has clearly succeeded: CoCo Pari's website includes dozens of testimonials from happy customers, some of whom drive two hours each way for the ultimate shopping experience. Writes Lisa of Philadelphia: "I was greeted by two young, energetic girls…. eir eager service along with the most mind-blowing fashions made my drive worth every minute…I counted over 80 styles of Christian Louboutins alone. is experience made it impossible to shop in any of these tiny boutiques near my home…. Please thank your entire staff for a wonderful experience." Husbands and boyfriends, meanwhile, can relax on a comfy couch with I What More Could a Woman Want? a drink from the coffee bar while they watch a ballgame on a flat-screen TV. And if the men (or anyone else) needs a gift, they can log on to the store's recently expanded website. Besides testimonials, articles, and photos, customers can view the fabulous CoCo Pari fashions and order by phone. But the website can't possibly offer what a trip to the store does: the equivalent of having your own personal shopper. Never pushy, always caring, the sales staff doesn't work on commission, freeing them to focus on making the customers look and feel great. " ey tell me when something looks good," notes customer Patty. "And when something doesn't look good, they tell me that too. I've never been happier" with her clothes—or herself—since shopping at CoCo Pari. e staff also understands that not every woman is in her 20s and a size 2. Whether you need professional clothes, an evening gown, or jeans and a T-shirt, the staff will make sure you find it—and enjoy the process. For real enjoyment, come on Friday and Saturday nights, when Latin music resounds throughout the store and hours are extended until 11pm. As devoted customer Alexandra says, it's "a really good experience coming in and having a good time and leaving and feeling like a celebrity." Patty attests that she buys her entire wardrobe at CoCo Pari. Why? Says Patty, "I always feel pretty when I leave."
