C alendar novEmbEr 2009 of Events Sunday, November 1 Two Pianos: Two Sisters Photography Exhibit Schumann's fiery overture makes a fine lead-in to Poulenc's lighthearted, jazz-influenced double concerto, played by twin sisters. Brahms composed his second symphony while visiting the Austrian Alps. Abundant in flowing melodies, it finds the composer in a cheerful and expansive mood. 1:30pm, State Theatre, 15 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick. Larry Kerner, whose landscape photographs are on permanent display in 12 healthcare institutions, are on exhibit. Runs through December 6. Overlook Hospital, Summit. A Taste of Italy Guitar Dobro Bass Guitarist Don Sarlin, Dobro player Mike Levine, and bassist Jeff Ganz have toured and recorded with many nationally known music icons such as Van Morrison and Johnny Winter. 4pm, MoFiddles, Livingston Town Center, Livingston. 973-994-1083. Enjoy this concert, presented as part of the Juilliard @ SOPAC series. Israeli Chamber Project This annual Italian feast started at Our Lady of Peace by Rose Mazzucco and friends back in 1943. The original sauce for the spaghetti was developed by Mrs. Mazzucco, and 40 gallons will be cooked by parish ladies using this recipe. Spanish Harlem Orchestra & Tito Puente Junior Orchestra Perform This event is open to all Women Who Write members.
