More than 1,000 people enjoyed the first Summit Wine & Food Festival, where famed chefs helped raise funds for local charities.

Seen in the Vicinity Photos by Sharon Stern Summit Wine & Food Festival— M ore than 1,000 area residents gathered for a weekend of tastings, book signings, and cooking demonstrations at the first Summit Wine & Food Festival at The Grand Summit Hotel. A portion of the proceeds from the event, held July 24-26, benefited the Red Cross, Komen New Jersey, Sage Eldercare of Summit, and the Overlook Hospital Foundation. The three-day event culminated with a gourmet burger showdown, where New York City's Wildwood BBQ won first place in the haute category and Boom of Belmar took the prize for best slider.
